StarringMatt Damon as an amnesiac assassin, the first movie in the series was "The Bourne Identity," released in 2002. Made on a low budget, the film was a breakout success that charmed criticsTHEBOURNE IDENTITY is a slick looking movie. The direction and camera work are notable. The fight scenes are thrilling. But, the story is very obscure, which may be the point. The United States of America evidently has run amock. The CIA, as we find out in Congressional hearings, is having fun doing covert operations under different code names TheBourne Identity (first one) directed by Doug Liman (spelling?) was really well done. The second two directed by Paul Greengrass had some questionable cinematography (infamous shakey cam) and the writing overall has this sort of false sense of urgency or importance, constantly making a big deal out of everything and using tacticool and super dooper clandestine terminology constantly.
